It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin James Uribe, 52, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Born on September 4th, 1971, and passed onto his eternal home on August 23rd, 2024. Benjamin was a lifelong resident of Las Cruces, NM, and he lived a life filled with passion and dedication. 
 
Benjamin was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. Benjamin was preceded in death by his stepfather, Manuel Sandoval. He is survived by his mother, Hermelinda Sandoval of Las Cruces, NM and his father, Ralph T. Uribe of Pensacola, FL, younger brother, Michael Uribe, his niece, Marian Uribe, and his nephew, Michael Uribe Jr., along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. 
 
He was a proud alumnus of Gadsden High School, Class of 1990. Benjamin excelled in track, showcasing his competitive spirit and determination. He was also a talented drummer, sharing his love of music with family and friends. For 23 years, he drove semi-trucks, a career he cherished, enjoying the open road and the camaraderie of fellow drivers. A devoted and lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Benjamin wore his team colors with pride and was known as their biggest supporter. His enthusiasm for football brought joy to many, as he shared countless moments of excitement with friends and family. 
 
Benjamin’s warm spirit, love for family, and passion for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, at The Community of Christ Church, located at 1210 Montana Avenue, Las Cruces, NM at 3:00 p.m.

To Hermelinda and family: I remember Ben as the kindest, most respectful young man with a beautiful smile always. You could tell he cherished his relationship with his mom and displayed such high regard for her "treating her like a queen."
He is already missed by so many people. He has earned his heavenly reward with our Lord.
