Not sure what to say?

I was a classmate of Bennett's in high school and my brother, Charlie (Masco'79), played basketball with him. In sharing the news of his death with my family, I learned that Ben used to regularly give Charlie lifts to summer basketball practices and that he even hosted my brother for a weekend at Bowdoin as a pre-college visit. I didn't know him well personally, but had the impression that underneath a somewhat gruff exterior was a very generous & witty spirit. On behalf of the Ashing family,...

Ben's Family & Marcia,

My deepest sympathies to you all for the passing of Ben. He and I worked together at Verizon for a few years. He was extremely smart and funny; and I never felt awkward asking him a technical question. I never knew he was such an avid golfer. Would love to have played a round with him. My thoughts are with you all. Marcia-- hope you are doing okay.

Sincerely,

Carol

Our condolences to Marcia,Lisa & Stuart.

Christine and I will always have fond memories of Ben. He was a great guy and we trully enjoyed being in his company. We especially enjoyed Ben having fun at Lisa's expense! Ben will always live in our hearts.

Deepest Sympathies,
The Waldrop Family

Our deepest sympathies to Stuart, Lisa and Marcia. May the memories of Ben comfort you.

Marcia, My deepest sympathy on your loss of Ben, such a great guy. Not only was Ben a very smart and creative guy in his profession, he was an absolute pleasure to be around. His constant smile and sense of humor, his wit was infectious and is irreplaceable. We hadn’t seen each other in several years and when we last met, it was as if we hadn’t skipped a day….. a huge smile, a big hug and a wisecrack all at the same time…only Ben could pull that off with grace and a sense of affection. ...

Lisa and family,
Our deepest sympathy for the loss of you brother. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

The luge will never be the same. Mr. Ben. That big silly smile of yours will be greatly missed.

Sympathies from the entire Harvey family of Topsfield. In high school, Ben was a good friend of my brother, John, who also passed away far too young. Ben looked after me (like a big brother would) when I moved to Portland. He was a kind, kind person. Thinking of you, Lisa. Love, Liz Harvey
