Mr. Oliver was a roommate to my uncle Pete (Leon) Eckert for a few months at the Goodall-Witcher Nursing Facility. Our family appreciated his sweet, gentle manner with everyone he met. He was a good companion for my uncle who was nearly blind. The two of them would sit in the lobby for several hours a day -- just sitting quietly or reminiscing about when they were both young and living in the Cayote area. Mr. Bennie will be so missed by every church in Meridian,There was no surprise when Bennie walked in to share testimonies and always a song was in His Heart,.
