I am saddened to learn of Bennie
Roy's demise. My remembrance takes
me back to the Emancipation Park
when he was a lifeguard and one of
my swimming instructors. I shall
never forget his kindness and the
difference he made in my life and
the lives of many others from the
Third Ward.

To the family of Coach Roy I am sorryful for the lost my teacher at Worthing High School. Coach Roy taught me how to drive a car and I still today remember how patient he was with me in that class. My prays are with the family.
