Swartz Funeral Home - Flint Obituary

TUCKER, BENNIE EDWARD, SR. – Of Swartz Creek, age 94, died Saturday, June 29, 2024 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc.


Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Mary McClellan officiating.


Burial in Flint Memorial Park.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community of Christ.


Visitation 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.


Bennie was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on October 14, 1929, the son of the late Ben and Lorene (Johnson) Tucker.


On January 6, 1952 he married Lenora Murray.


He was a member of Community of Christ on Bristol Road and Masons Swartz Creek, Lodge #458.


Mr. Tucker was a machine repairman at Buick.


Surviving are sons, Bradley (Jill), Gregory (Judy) and  Randy (Sharon);


grandchildren, Summer (Michael) Tucker, Erik Tucker, Andrea Tucker and Abbie Tucker;


great-grandchildren, Lucy and Iris;


brothers and sisters, Harvey Tucker, Merle (Charles) Byrd, Betty (Macon) Campbell, Jewell (Don) West and Jerry (Irene) Tucker;


special friend, Lillian Karstens.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenora; son, Bennie, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Brenda and brother, Harvey Tucker.

Uncle Bennie was a man of integrity . He walked with a sweet spirit, outward laughter, and a follower of Christ. He and Lenore were deeply in love throughout their marriage and he saw to it that his family was provided for. He leaves a legacy whose footprints will be hard to follow. Even his nieces and nephews and all who knew him upheld him with the greatest of respect. He will be missed and as we go through our grieving process, we have many fond memories of our times with him. May he...
