Benny Abalos

Benny Tellez Abalos, age 80, of Las Cruces passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Benny was born July 26, 1935 in T or C to Rito and Ramona Tellez Abalos. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and in 1994, Benny retired from the United State Postal Service.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Celia Delgado Abalos of the family home; one son, Rito Abalos (Marie) all of Las Cruces; three brothers, Jerry Abalos (Faith) of Salem, NC, Johnny Abalos (Manuela) of Deming and Lee Robert Abalos (Nancy) of Big Springs, TX; one sister, Beatrice Carson of Garfield. Other survivors include four grandchildren six great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Benny was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Benny Abalos, Jr., and one brother, Rudy Abalos.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with Pastor Fred Espinosa officiating. Inurnment of Cremains will follow the same afternoon at 2:30 PM in Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue, El Paso, TX with military honors accorded by the Holloman Air Force Steel Talons Honor Guard.
