I will always remeber this funny & proud man and cherrish our many visits & lunches at Macs. We had a lot of laughs at his eye doctors office where we have seen him for years. He opened the door to new friendships with his family & we ended up neighbors to his grandson. He will be missed.

Benny was a most unusual man who has made his broad mark on Santa Rosa and all those of us who had the priviledge of knowing him. He will be sorely missed.

I worked at the retirement home where Benny lived with his wife. He was always so sweet and was one of the nicest people there. We all were so saddened by his death and we all will miss him very deeply at the Lodge.

Having just lost my 22 year old daughter Katlyn on May 29, 2008. I know what the Friedman family is going through.
I had the pleasure of working for the Friedmans for 8 years, until moving to Fort Bragg. I was always awed by the affection Billy had for his dad. They are a loving family and my heart goes out to them.......Cherish every day you have together, as you never know when it will be the last. Our family is seeing proof of that. Sincerely Linda Long

I had the privilage of meeting Benny once but he made an everlasting impression. I had the pleasure of working for his son, Bill, and with his grandson Barry for a little over four years. I had met Benny at the Friedman's christmas party where he had shared with all of us a couple of stories about the original store. He a was good-natured fellow with a contagious smile. My thoughts and prayers go out to Bill, Barry and the rest of the family.

I met Benny well into his retirement. I was profoundly touched by his kindness and sense of humor. He was so kind to me and my family. Santa Rosa has truly lost a special person. My family and I will never forget him.
