Not sure what to say?

I was fortunate enough to be a student and basketball player at st. matthews high school; coach hollis first job out of college. I really looked up to him and respected him. he was a very dedicated coach, and a great tribute to the coaching professon. God rest his soul.

Our prayers and sympathy to the Hollis family. Benny was a good man admired by all who knew him.

De'Lane, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Coach Benny convinced me at a young age that a short person with not as much athletic ability could play basketball and make an impact. Defense son defense. How I remember the time he took with me at La. Tech Camps along with Coach Scotty and Coach Eagles. Without his passion to teach even 10 year olds the game I would not have had the success I had in High School to play the game and make a diffrence. Above the physical things he taught the most important was that men of integrity,...

Though we occasionally sparred during my time covering NLU athletics, I never left Coach Hollis' office without thinking that he was a good man to deal with. Infinitely reasonable and quick to find something to laugh about in good and bad times, Coach was one of the good ones. Jack Mitchell (Little Rock, AR)

As a freshman at Northeast, benny was our floor proctor in our dormitory. He was always able to keep us "under control" in spite of our ongoing "kid stuff." He had a sense of humor even when he was mad as a "wet hen" and he displayed a unique leadership quality for a young man during those years. I am saddened to hear of his passing. He was a wonderful person and will be missed by all of the ULM family.

What a wonderful family! We'll miss Mr. Benny, but we know he's smiling down on us from heaven. Love and prayers to the Hollis family. Love, Amy, Jay, Caroline and Joseph St, Romain

I have many wonderful memories of Coach Hollis. Most of all I remember his sense of humor. No matter how tense the situation was Benny could always break the tension with a gentle jab or poke to your funny bone.

I will miss Benny's slip-up-on you and disarming negotiating skills too. He was a good role model for all.

I have so many wonderful childhood memories growing up at the Hollis home. Love and miss you, Mr. Benny. Always, Darla
