Not sure what to say?

Dear Susi, Thanks for including me in this memory of Beno. I cherish the times we had together. Those memories of you and Beno arriving and/or leaving the Y on the Ducati or of Beno trusting us to sing the Italian Anthem in front of folks we did not know. With love, Rody

Beno was the best professor I ever had. Memories of his warmth and kindness carry me through my trials to to this day. I think of him every time I speak Italian. He was a mentor and a true Mensch.

My deepest sympathy goes out to his family, friends and colleagues. I graduated from PSU in 1994 with a degree in Italian. Dr. Weiss was a true inspiration to me in many ways. Every class I had with him was a lesson learned in life. He led all his courses with passion, life, dignity and respect. He truly was the best teacher I have ever experienced. I am so sorry to hear about his passing and I hope you find peace in the memories, life lessons and love that he has instilled in so many. I...

Our love and condolonces are sent to Susi, Sandro and Gabri. We were neighbors to Beno and Susi in 1973 and we grew to love them - as did our children Noel, Megan and Kerry. We were welcomed into their home where there was always a wonderful cup of strong coffee. We discussed politics, music and child rearing. We moved from State College in 1976 but have never forgotten our wonderful friends. Our love and sympathy goes out to all of you. The Hustwit Family

Our condolences to Susie and Sandro and Gabby.
Ed and I feel that we have lost a member of our family.

I had not realized that Beno had such an interesting life. Russell, Helen and I send our condolences to Susi and the kids.

Beno was a true friend to my father, Louis C. Perez. I met Beno several times and heard about him often. He was a truly funny and humane man. I am grateful that my father and all of us had the pleasure of Beno's company and the gift of his friendship. My deepest condolences to Beno's family.

Beno served as a valued member of the Penn State Press Editorial Committee for three years (1996-1999) as a representative of the Faculty Senate while I was director of the Press. I remember his wit and warmth well. My sympathies are with his family in this time of loss.

I met "Uncle Beno" a few times at family events, through my dear friend, his niece, Debbie Greenberg Strano. His smile and personality were obviously a warm, shining light to all who knew and loved him. My heart goes out to Susi, Alessandro, Gabriella, his sisters Eugenia, Ruthy and Judy, and the entire family! God bless Beno and all of his loved ones.
