I remember him as a kind and jovial presence at the Kihlbergs' in Minnesota.

It is with sadness that I learn of Bent's death. He was a colleague and mentor to me during my stay at UF. As a new assistant professor in 1968, I learned the meaning of rigor during moments when I slipped too easily over difficult technical points. Bent often helped with my research on urban hydrology, and I still refer to his course notes on hydraulics. Interesting that just today I found two of his papers in a 1989 proceedings to which I was referring.

I am so saddened to hear of Dr. Christensen's passing. He was my professor and mentor in undergraduate and graduate school (88-95). His brilliant and elegant approach to education and engineering was my original inspiration to be a hydraulic engineer, and has informed me in my career every day since.
