A wonderful measure of how well one lived life is how the grandchildren turned out. The truly exceptional parent raises a child who also does a great job raising a child. We didn't know Bernie, but we know four of his grandchildren, Patrick, Charlie, Joe and Claire. They are the living testament to how well Bernie lived his life and passed on his values.
