Though I did not know Bernard, I would like to send my condolences to his family. He and my father, Charles Gerwels, were first cousins. His mother and my grandmother, Clara Echeman Gerwels, were sisters. I remember knowing and loving his parents, Aunt Frances and Uncle Ferd, from my childhood growing up. Eileen Gerwels Mulroy
