Not sure what to say?

On the anniversary of my good refereeing buddy Bernie Bennett, I still think about our interaction during games and our time traveling to and from games and sharing stories and how he always looked at me like I was "a piece of work" in a good and humorous way. He always called me "Teddy", I miss him and still remember the last time I saw him at the Hy-Vee in Lenexa with his big smile.

May the family find comfort and strength in the coming days. Know that Coach touched so many lives. He would push you to do your best, and still be fair in challenging to do so. RIP Coach

My Prayers Goes Out To The Bennett Family. Coach Bennett was a great teacher & coach. Will truly be missed...Class of 82, Lincoln Academy

My prayers and heartfelt condolences go out to the Bennett family and friends. Coach Bennett was by P.E. teacher at Lincoln High in the early 80's. He was tough but fair. He gave me confidence to succeed in he things I could do in class, but I wouldn't swim. He never gave up trying to teach a hardheaded teenager and it takes a good person to have had this gift to effect so many. He touched so many young lives in a positive way. May he rest in peace next to GOD.

With deepest sympathy in the passing of my great coach. He gave me the confidence to succeed in all I did

I refereed high school football with Bernie, he was a very good official, a wonderful person, and I enjoyed his humor. I feel fortunate to have seen him a while back at the Lenexa, KS Hy-vee.

I was very saddened to see that he had passed away, I will miss him.
