Bernard B. Blaauw M.D.

Oh my goodness, the world lost a great and compassionate doctor. I was sitting at home and Dr. Blaauw came into my mind. He was my doctor for 20 years. He was always very kind and went beyond what most doctors do. He was always a genuine caring physician whom you could count on. Thank you Dr. Blaauw for taking care of me me all those years.

Fond Memories of Bernie Blaauw in Chicago during the 1970's. Wonderful to have known him and a privilege it was along with many mutual friends. Loved the Sunday Brunches. An important connection on the journey of Life. What a privilege.

I´m so sad to learn that Dr.Blaauw passed. I thought of him today because I was watching a TV show where a doctor made a house call. Bernie came to mind immediately. I then looked on the Internet and saw his obituary. Let me explain further. In 1975, I was just 26 years old and living and working in Chicago. I had a new job and did not have health insurance yet. Unfortunately, I came down with hepatitis and Bernie treated me for it. He made weekly house calls to my apartment to check on me...

I found out just now about Bernie's passing. He was my primary care doctor for several years. I loved the relaxed atmosphere of his office, in contrast to so many other doctor's offices. I also loved his calm manner. I ran into him once at the memorial service of a friend of mine, Rick Oechsle, and was pleased to see that we were both friends of Rick. I always liked Dr. Blaauw and am glad that I knew him.

Dr. Blaauw was one of the most compassionate and caring physicians that I had the pleasure of knowing !!
