Bernard and I were fraternity, brothers in Seattle in the last 60, our lives came back together when moved to marin county. We played golf together... He will be sorely missed.
I wish we had done even more together...

Bernard and I were friends for 35 years. During our friendship we spent a lot of time talking. He was a great soul. His life was dedicated to knowledge even though he reluctantly accepted it. His friends were all admirers of his wit...honesty...and diplomacy. Bernard always understood human nature and what people thought. I am going to miss him as a brother.

Barney was a fraternity brother at Sigma Alph Mu at the University of Washington, one class ahead of me. I remember as a pledge prank we placed Barney (dressed in shorts, suspenders, wearing a Beanie and holding a large lollipop) on an airplane from SeaTac to Vancouver B.C. without any identification. We knew he could talk his way back to Seattle---and he did. He was back the next day! Although I have not seen him for years, I will cherish the memories.

I only knew Bernard when he joined the Richmond CC and we were partnered in a 2-person team competition and placed second--mostly due to Bernard's terrific driving and excellent putting. I and his other new friends at Richmond will miss him. My condolences to his family.

So sorry to learn of this. I knew Barney from the time we were about 14 or 15 years old. Roomed with him for a year at the U of W. Shared law offices with him in the mid1970s. Although I had not seen him in several years, he was a piece of my life and a major part of my youth.

No one who ever played golf with Bernard and Linda will ever forget his "out of his shoes" driving style, his unique putting style and his "succotash". May there be the best golf courses in heaven for you, Bernard......
