I had the pleasure of working with Bernie while he was an Air National Guard Fire Chief. It was always a pleasure working with him. He was a mentor to many of us over the years. I know he will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him.

I took Essentials class in the late 70´s that Bernie taught. Very knowledgeable, level headed. I was pleasantly surprised when I met Tom and then got to see Bernie at Tom´s birthday party. My dad, chief of Alplaus FD in the 70´s,always enjoyed working with Bernie throughout his career with The ANG. Very sorry.
