Not sure what to say?

Sending my condolences to Bernard's family. I came by chance to read his memorial and so glad I did, he was a wonderful man.

We are so sorry to learn about your father's passing. We were stationed with him at George AFB, CA. We were a bowling team together and good friends. We loved them both very much. We got to see him once a few years ago on a trip through Tucson in our motorhome. Had planned to surprise him. God bless and keep the family. Claude and Hallie Kitchens

Dear Eric and Melanie and Family:

So sorry to learn of Ben's passing. I enjoyed your parents so much, all those years ago at Apache Lake. I'm sorry I haven't written sooner, but my own mother passed March 10th. My deepest condolences. Love, Vanessa Olsen, DVM

Ben never quit serving. He was an important part of preparing for and presenting the 2005 20FWA Reunion in Tucson. We have lost another great fighter pilot and human being.

Great guy and always made me laugh.
I would tease him because he had to punch out of my plane in Aviano Italy ,It was a defective new engine. He loved to tell the story and we all really liked him. My heart goes out to his family. Farewell Ben.

Only once in a great while a super guy comes along --it has been a wonderful pleasure knowing you for the past 55 years!! You will be missed!

When I arrived In Vietnam as a young and inexperienced Lt., one of the first people I met was Ben. For the next year, he showed me how to do it - how to lead, how to follow, how to fly the Hun, how to do it right, how to be a friend. We'll miss you.

So long Ben. What a mentor you were to us young Lts back in 1965/66. We'll never forget the loving care provided by you and Ruth. Meet you in the next furball over the TACAN. Denny and Nancy Schaan
