Not sure what to say?

I have only just found out that Bernie has died. He was an amazing doctor and I am forever grateful for how he helped me. Deepest condolences to the family. May he rest in peace

I have just lost a lifelong friend Bernie Brenner and I cannot really express my grief in words.

My dearest friend Bernie passed away leaving me with nothing but fond memories. I still remember the summer of 1955 when we first met at school. I remember his mother walking him in like it was yesterday.

A go-getter, he was an adventurous soul and did whatever he put his mind to.His excellent medical career bears testimony to his aptitude and knack for hard work and...

Our Deepest Sympathy to all the Family, Friends and Colleagues at this sad time of Dr Bernie Brenner he was such a wonderful, kind and caring Doctor always giving so much information about Women's Health and has help me with all of my Operations. I was a patient of Dr Brenner for 40 years and it was such a pleasure to have known him, and he will be sadly missed by many. Mrs Maureen Dash

Bernie was an outstanding Doctor. His operating theater chat was of the latest advances in astronomy, bad jokes, medical advances and talk of his next lecture. He delivered my children and cared for them as they grew up. He was an early adopter of new technology. He was thoughtful ,diligent and charming...adored by his patients. REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I only knew Dr Brenner as a patient but I have never forgotten the beautiful, caring manner in which he treated me and took away my fear of my upcoming surgery. RIP

Today after listening to wonderful and touching eulogies presented by Carol, Lauren and grandchildren, Ashley, Issey and Samuel, I became more aware than ever, of the privilege my long and close friendship with Bernie, has been. As Bernie's illness closed in the last years of his life, his reminder that we do not always control the cards we are dealt, only how we play them, seems to fit with his kind concern for others and determined lack of self pity.

So sad to hear of Bernie's passing. I remember a fiercely intelligent man, with a kind heart , an ever enquiring mind . He will be remembered as one of North Shore's great pioneering doctors. Rest in peace Bernie

Bernard and I shared a wonderful childhood, we were poor but well fed. I have not stopped crying as childhood memories came flooding back. R.I.P. Jenny

Sending deepest sympathy to all the family of Dr Bernie, a very special man who took such wonderful care of me in 1981, during a very difficult pregnancy and delivered our son safely into the world. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Susan.
