Madelaine and family, It doesn't seem possible it has been 7 years since Mike's journey to heaven. His influence remains strong and we certainly need more people like him today. Just to let you know you remain in my thoughts and prayers. Linda

In 2002 Mike Conboy was part of a group of committed people who ensured Community Action Network did not dissolve. He served faithfully on its board until June 2016 and his continued steady support helped bring about its growth and success.

Like Johnny Appleseed, Mike left a trail of children's books wherever he went. For more than 20 years, he made weekly visits to community centers in Ann Arbor's subsidized housing neighborhoods, rolling a suitcase filled with gently used books...

We had the great honor of meeting Mr Conboy in 2015, and hope to follow his excellent example for a full and fulfilling life. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends at the loss of a great man.

I was fortunate enough to know Mike as a friend and colleague through his work at Community Action Network as a board member and the heart and soul of the serendipity reading club where local school-aged children chose their own books from Mike's handpicked selection. Mike was truly a personal inspiration for myself and I believe his impact cannot be overstated, having provided generations of young readers and their families with wonderful books at no cost to them. one of a long line of candles as the torch is passed...Mike is well remembered from the Milliken days...and, that he never stopped serving his community, from native son of Benzie County to Ann Arbor's Thurston park...a model for us all...
