I was with Sergeant Digend in Khost, at the mission , we used to play a game called "7 Stones" together. He would say that the one who can stack the 7 stones faster than the other would win. Our duty was in the Khost province, in the village of Spira near the Pakistan border. We had just met, and he showed me pictures of his children. He said, "I love them so much," and tears welled up in his eyes. Then he laughed...

We were instructors together at Fort Sill in the mid 1990´s , the Paladin Commanders course . I got him interested in Archery Big Game hunting . I didn´t learn what happened until many years later . Miss him still, he was always very entertaining and a great instructor

Today would've been my fathers 49th birthday. Happy birthday dad. Hope all is well. We all sure do miss you down here. But then again we all know that you are looking down on us keeping us happy. I love you!
