I think of Dr Epstein frequently. He was one of my favorite professors and I had the privilege of taking him at George Mason from 1986-1988.

Bernard was a gentleman and a scholar, before those words became a cliche. I am proud to be counted as family. Although I met Bernie and Florence after they retired from NM, i always have thought it was right that I replaced them here....
I will cherish the fond memories I have of our limited times together, and offer my sincere condolences to all.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. I met him in 1995 when we lived in Silver Spring for a year, and remember him as a kind, interesting person. I lost my mother in September. Even when you know your parent's life was difficult at the end, the hole they leave is a large one. Be strong.
