Marine Cpl. Bernard G. Gooden grew up in Jamaica and attended York College in Toronto, Canada, but had to leave because his family couldn''t afford the tuition. He joined the Marines in 2001 as a way to finish his education, hoping to pursue corporate law. Gooden, 22, was killed April 4 during a firefight in central Iraq. "He was a kid any mother would love to have," said his mother, Carmen Thompkins. "He was very warm."

Gooden was in my Tank School shortly after 9/11. He was a true Marine. He was full of spirit and drive. The world is a worse place without him. I am sorry for your loss

Although you are not with in the flesh. Your memories lives on, R.I.P you are not forgotten

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Gooden Family know that we recently sent a donation to Jordan's Initiative in honor of Bernard G. Gooden US Marine Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family...

The 9th anniversary of Bernard's passing was on 04/04/13. Please be aware that he has not been forgotten. He fought the good fight. I will always remember his sacrifice.

Always remembering Bernard. "Some gave all."

It's rainin' but there ain't a cloud in the sky
Must of been a tear from your eye
Everything'll be okay
Funny, thought I felt a sweet summer breeze
Must of been you sighin' so deep
Don't worry we're gonna find a way
