Not sure what to say?

I am very saddened to see that this wonderful man has passed. He removed a birthmark on my face, which completely transformed my life. To me, he was a god, for what he did for me. I adored him. I was sad when he retired and closed his practice. May his memory be a blessing

What a wonderful doctor and human being! My husband Robert and I knew and appreciated him for many years! Gratitude and respect!

A gentle, compassionate and kind man I will miss him and will think of him often for the rest of my love. His joie de vivre was infectious and I always think of him laughing, and kidding around. Truly an example to us all ...

It is hard to write about a dear friend and colleague in the past tense. Bernie was a special individual to whom everyone was an intimate. Knowing him and Irene was a deep and real privilege. It is hard to imagine it but the world and the our community will suddenly be a different place with Bernie gone. My love and sympathy to Irene and his family and friends for a deep and lasting loss.

It is so hard to fully express what a wonderful man, Bernard was. His initials were B.I.G. and that's just a hint to his big heart. Professional and skilled at work. A warm and lovely friend, whom we will miss him very much. Out love goes out to Irene, Greg, Byron, Leonard, Chandra, Trudie-Rose and Senya. Many blessings, Pip. Ilya and Kira

Bernie was a dear friend and so sorry to hear his passing away. We sure will miss him. Raza and Hina Aly

Bernie was my dear friend. It was a shock to me to see his name listed in the obituary site of the San Francisco Chronicle. I am so saddened by the news. We were close friends at the hospital, having serve many years together on the Mount Zion Hospital Medical Board. In private practice, he was my "go to" dermatologist for patient referrals. He didn´t have a "bad bone" in his body. Bernie was everyone´s friend. He was a mensch. I will miss you Bernie. May his memory be for a blessing.

Deep and heartfelt condolences on the passing of Bernie. He was my doctor, colleague, and good friend. We will all miss him.
