Bernie was the tallest player and a tough competitor on our 1953 ST Thomas Aquinas basketball team. He was smart-when all of his classmates went to UF, Bernie went to FSU-where the girls were. In spite of dealing with MS he always had a great attitude. He made everyone around him feel better. We will all miss him and as the nuns always told us "Bernie will surely get his reward in the next world.

What a gift you were to so many, dear Bernie. You loved,beyond reason, your beautiful Janet, and those wonderful children: Michael, Patti and Karen. You loved all those Janet loved, her whole family. Most importantly, you loved your Catholic faith and your God. How beautiful that you are exactly where your heart and soul have always wanted to be.
