I did not know Bernie well, but I saw most of his HS basketball games. I was just a kid at St. Ann's in Scranton during his heyday.
It says here he turned out to be a great husband and father and citizen.
That does not surprise me..but I wish his kid and grandkids could have seen him in his prime..he could 'ball'.
