Bernard Marks

With his masterful orchestration of expressive, vibrant daubs of color in his paintings, Bernie captured the essence of the breathtaking beauty of our Southwestern landscapes that he so passionately painted. They are his legacy to our world and will bring joy, love and appreciation of his work and our planet to generations to come. Thank you, Bernie. Rest in peace. My deep condolences to Martha and Bernie's family.

I met Bernie through a Canyon Road gallery, and eventually was able to give him a show at my own gallery, Joyous Lake, in Pinetop...and was lucky enough to meet his beautiful wife as well. What a delightful and talented person he was! I was hoping to catch up with him after my recent move to New Mexico, but it was not to be.

I did not know Bernie but his wife Martha was an important and valuable part of my education. I will remember Bernie in my thoughts and prayers today this 1st day of 2021.
