Not sure why I received this e-mail, 11 years after the fact. But my feelings about a New Orleans original like Bernard, haven't and will never change. Witty, wise and kind. Fun, fearless and family oriented. Loved to be in his company anytime and anywhere. Ask me again in another 11 years and nothing about this fun-loving man will have changed. I'm am so terribly sorry for your loss, as well as the loss to all of us who knew him and were lucky enough to share in a portion of his wonderful life.
I'm just so grateful I had the opportunity to visit in June, visit with you (Earline and Lisa), and kiss Bernard's cheek for the last time.

This news takes my breath away, leaves me with a very heavy heart and many tears. I was out of town and had no idea Bernard had passed away. Got an e-mail from a friend this morning who mentioned it. I immediately came to the obituaries. I really don't know what to say other than I loved Bernard with all my heart and will miss our colorful conversations and his wonderful company. I'm so sorry I came to this sad news so late. If there is anything I can do at anytime...

Dearest Earline,
Words can not begin to convey to you my sorrow for the loss of your beloved husband. I was first introduced to Bernard by Mark Turk. We were to discuss a business deal, but within hours became friends which lasted for the duration. I am fondly remembering the stories we shared and the conversations we had at your office and home.
