Not sure what to say?

Today is June 17th 2024, I just stumbled across this site and the obituary for Barney McFadden, I attended Southampton College of Long Island University from September 1965 to May or June 1966 my room mates name was Barney McFadden he told me his full name was Bernard Joseph Eugene McFadden. We were friendly bit did not socialize, Barney was a fan of the band the Young Rascals ( later called the Rascals). Barney was a great roommate, I drove him back to his family apartment on, I think...

I miss Barney and many of those who signed the book in 2006

Dear Rossie,
Barney and I shared something special in our years at Southampton. Our late night talks solved many of the problems of the world. After losing track of each other,we recently made contact and he said he would be traveling east soon and we would try to meet. Needless to say I was deeeply saddened when I heard of his untimely passing. My condolences to you and his entire family. Rest in peace old friend.

I am extremely saddened at the news of Barney's death. We studied acting together, at the Neighborhood Playhouse School in New York, over thirty-five years ago. Fortunately, I got to see him and meet Rossie a few years ago in Los Angeles, and it was just like old times - he had hardly changed. I will miss him.

Peter and Bernie (his name used during high school) were classmates at Malvern prep. What wonderful memories we have of our dating days and great fun with "Bernie". I'll never forget the excitement seeing him on stage in NYc with Diana Riggs. Even Peter's mom came along with us---she too loved him, and followed his aspirations and accomplishments, as we did! Life is certainly too short, and often unfair....and now filled with regret at not catching up more often....
Rest dear friend, in...

Dear Cousin Rossie:
I was away in Scotland delivering a paper at the University of Edinburgh when this all transpired. Mary told me about it by phone.
Oh dear Rossie - what can one possibly say about this tremendouos loss exccept to recall, as often as we are able in the hurley-burley of our busy lives, theat each day is a gift and we are to savour each one that we share with our fellow beings
Out thoughts are with you dear Rossie while you adapt to a new life without our good...

And now, on we go ...

Our most sincere and deepest condolences on the loss of Barney, one of the most fun and jovial customers we ever had. May he rest in peace.

Barney had just made himself a peanut butter on white. He took a bite, flashed me a look, and proceeded to take the entire sandwich into his mouth. Cheeks stretched to maximum, he chewed the mortar with fervor and delight until it was gone. I think he did the same to life.
