So sorry to hear this. My memories of Bernie are from half a century ago, but they are good ones. I remember him as an astonishingly cute kid in elementary school, and as a colleague I admired and really enjoyed working with on our high school play.
I see from the photo that that twinkle in his eye stayed with him throughout his life. Bernie was a real ray of sunshine in this world. It is a poorer place without him.

I worked many theater projects with Bernie over several years. He was always up for the challenges and displayed his many talents portraying various characters. He was always a joy to work with and to be around. Although I had not seen him in several years, I will always remember his great personality and commitments to what he believed in. He was always for making his community a better place to be. As long as you speak of him, and tell stories about him, he will not fade away!
