Not sure what to say?

My sympathies to the Parys family. I worked for Sgt. Parys when I came on the late shift at #7 in 1968. He was one of the best bosses I ever worked for. He told me he was in the military but never made a big deal about it. Only now have I realized what a great soldier he was. I always respected and admired him for his leadership qualities. He led a good life and he truly deserved it. Rest In Peace Sarge !!! Bill Blumenberg

I worked for Bernie on the MPD Underwater Investigation unit. He was a great leader taking care of his men and running the team without a hitch. Put a roof on his farm house and a cement floor in the garage soon after his retirement. I will never forget the things he did for me during my time under his command. I will miss him.

I was so sad in hearing of Bernies passing. I worked at,dist number 1 E. Bernie got me out of roll call and asked if I would work for him at Summerfest. I think it was the first year of Summerfest. Didn´t really want to but said yes. That started about a six year stint working for him and Sgt Baron at Summerfest. We had a lot of fun in those days working the midway. Remember George Carlin? Later I joined the MPD dive team Bernie was the boss. It was great working for him. When he left the...

I have always referred to him as Sergeant Parys out of great respect as he was my Sergeant at Milwaukee Police District #5 Early Shift where I was a Police Officer from 1976-1978. I worked for, and learned much from, many excellent Sergeants during my time as a Police Officer and Sgt. Parys was one of those who I admired and learned much from by word and just watching him do his job. He was an inspiration and had much to do with the development of my supervisory career. I'm very sorry to...

Please accept my sympathy on the passing of Bernie. I worked for Bernie on the job for years. Bernie was one of my sergeants for a few years when we worked Summer Fest. I also played a lot of handball with Bernie at the Eagles Club. Bernie was a very good boss and a good man. RIP
