Not sure what to say?

I worked with Dr. Patrick as an RN in PICU at UMMC in Jackson, MS. I had the utmost respect for him, so much so, that I recommended him to my husband for cervical disc surgery.

Kim, Karen, and Chris,
I recently heard of your dad's death and wanted to express my sympathy. It is unusual that meeting an individual as a patient would lead to knowing most of his family in years to come. We all have our favorite stories of Dr. Patrick, but my favorite occurred when he called me to check on his daughter's academic progress and appeared in my office the next morning; a quick flight to Miss. State University which got results.
Dr. S. John Obringer
Professor Emeritus

Dr. Patrick was a man I greatly admired. I feel honored he once took my flying in his open cockpit plane. I admired him for his zest for living, his great attitude and his many interests and hobbies. From my perspective, he lived life fully and embraced the joy of living, which is what God intends for us to do.

I had a Boy Scout canoe trip the weekend of the funeral and I felt so sad I didn't have a chance to say goodbye by attending. I guess making this post is my way of saying...

I, like many, have fond memories of Dr. Patrick - and all the Patrick clan! My thoughts are with you all!!

I'm surely gonna miss my dependable tennis partner. Love to you, Jo and family.

Dear Patrick Family: I am sorry for your loss. Dr. Patrick was the worlds greatest neurosurgeon, and I was bless to have him as a physican.

My sincere sympathies. My brother and I were both admirers of his surgical skills and personable attitude. He was my "backbone" in recovery and had a good sense of humour. Once told him I had been in that waiting room 2 hours and I should charge him for calming and entertaining other patients. There was no charge for that visit. He was very respected, even though hospital staff quaked when he ordered. Can't replace a one of a kind.

Kathy, Mrs. Patrick, and Family I'm sorry to hear about the loss of Dr Patrick. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I have fond memories of Doctor Patrick as an excellent teacher in medical school. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
