Not sure what to say?

Uncle Bernie and Aunt Peg were without question the favorite relatives of my brother John and I. Our father, Bernie's older brother Robert, regarded them highly and were our parents' closest friends for nearly 70 years as well as family. Always a gentleman. Always a man of dignity and presence. Our dear Uncle Bernie was a model to all a boy should aspire to be.

Dear Bill.. I just saw the notice on Bernie.. and am in shock. Had no idea that he had passed away. He was such an influence on my life and career and God Knows he was the best advisor any student could have. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family and to Mike's also. Will try and find you so we can talk... best, Helen Siegelin

He was a fantastic man...a pleasure to care for at the Knolls of Oxford...He is still missed!

Dear Mike,
We are so sad for you and your family. We got to know your father best at the Senior Center shooting pool with him. He was a great shooter and a wonderful gentleman! Hobie says "Bernie was the kind of fellow you feel privileged to have played, regardless of who wins the game" Wish we had known him better.

Thoughts and prayers to your family! Your dad (and mom) would always make time to say hello be it at church, hospital or a dinner at Marcum Hotel where I had worked. Such a genuine , down to earth couple. So sorry for your loss. Lynn Blakley Eisele

Dear Bill and Gail. So sorry for your loss. Bernie was a wonderful guy and will be missed by many. Helen just released from the hospital on Saturday and I won't be able to attend the services. He will be in my prayers. Jim Bacter

So sorry for your loss Aimee. Although I did not know your grandfather I now know from where you received both your intelligence and your drive. It appears he was an exceptional human being ❤

A life well lived, and for that, Bernie will be well remembered. I'm sure he is with Peg now - Lynn Brown

To all the family, Dr Phelps will truly be missed. I worked with him at Hamiltn Campus. He was a wonderful educator that had great storries. He was a very personable, friendly person who was always there for you to talk to and give you advise. He was just so special In So many ways. May prayers be with all at this difficult time.
