Not sure what to say?

Dr. Silk was my teacher at Cleveland Heights High. I will never get over his compassion. I was failing History and went to his house crying... "My dad is going to kill me." He claimed I passed the class! I w Ent on to graduate with my Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate... graduating With Honors. I´m so grateful to him.

Bernie Silk was my civics teacher at Roxboro junior high school. I will never forget his taking our class to Washington DC. I returned to Cleveland with my ex-husband and had my daughter. We actually visited Bernie and his wife. He was always absolutely the best- a master teacher- During my teaching career I tried very hard to emulate him. Condolences to the Silk family from a former student who always adored grandpa!! Sharon Dennis

I miss you, dad - it's hard to believe 8 years have gone by. You are still very much in my daily thoughts, experiences and memories. And I'm glad that you and mom aren't here to live through the pandemic - you wouldn't have put up with it, and mom would have been busy making masks on her sewing machine!

I cannot believe 7 years have gone by since your passing, dad - I miss you. Your legacy and memories live on - I just ran into a former student of yours....here in Florida!

I cannot believe it has been 6 years since my dad's passing. I think of him whenever I hear a particularly corny, off-color joke (he loved to tell them!), read an inspiring book and watch a movie about an 'underdog hero' (which he loved to portray - especially if he could 'act out' the role). He loved to bring my mom and I to tears with when telling emotional stories. I miss you dad! Love, Cindy

My brother, Jon Silk, and I first met Dr. Silk and his wife Dolores in Forest Park when we were teenagers. I remember immensely liking this likable fellow when we first met him and then to find out we had the same last name! It was because we liked him so much that my brother and I secretly hoped he was part of the family! LOL. Dolores, our hearts go out to you and we could see in his eyes how much he loved you. I always loved it when I saw the 2 of you riding your bikes around Forest...

My wife Diane and I enjoyed insightful conversation with Bernie about his remarkable career in educational service and are grateful that through him we have a wonderful brother in law, Scott.

Rest in eternal peace,

I remember him well. One of the best in my Heights High school years.

May you rest is peace. Cousin Chucky and wife Mary Boros
