Not sure what to say?

Bernie was the first guy I dated. Saw him many times over the years. His daughter and my daughter were best friends.

Bernie is a very bright memory for me. Although I didn't spend a lot of time with Bernie other than shopping at Silverberg's I felt that Bernie was a true friend. I can still see his smile when he greeted me...and other customers. Bernie and Herb also did a personal favor for my husband and me many years ago that I will never forget and for which I will always be grateful. He was a very special person and I still miss him.

It's hard to believe that it has been 8 years since Bernie left this world for the next. I still think of him often and his smile every time my wife and I visited him in the store. My visits to Tucson have become less frequent with the passing of both my mother and recently my brother Jerry but even still I can't pass the store without fond memories of Bernie. He was really the only high school friend in Tucson with whom I maintained contact over the years. To the Silverberg family our...

To the Silverberg family. Altho I live in Tucson I just found out after visiting the store today. I can't say how sorry I am. Altho, Los Angeles is a big city whenever my family came to visit me they left with a piece of jewelry sold to us first from Herb then by Bernie. They were so special to our family. May GOD give you all peace. Sincerely, Sydria

Dear Silverberg Family:

Mr. Bernie and his brother, Mr. Herb, were dear friends to my father, Tom Gwyn.

I still remember being a little girl and going downtown to the Silverberg and Son store with my dad, and later going to one of the downtown restaurants and ordering a shirley temple with double cherries!

Mr. Bernie and Mr. Herb also convinced daddy that I should accept my offer into Stanford University (which I did) instead of this other small girl's college...

Cynthia, Ed and children. I just found out that Bernie has gone to God. I still remember buying a wedding ring from Bernie for my wife, Gail(Hanson), 52 years ago. He became a good friend. Bob King

Dear Cynthia, Eddie, David, and Lisa, I am so sorry to hear about Bernie's passing. I was in California with my parents when we got word that Bernie had died and words can't even express how shaken we all were, especially my Mom and Dad. I am so grateful for the friendship Bernie and my Dad have had for over 60 years. Even though I didn't see Bernie often, he is just one of the kindest people I've ever known. And, of course, I got my engagement ring (25 years ago) from Bernie. After all, once...
