As a young trooper, he was my brother officer in St. Mary's County. His presence, demeanor and assistance restored order to out of control situations. In retirement, he was an associate on our service to the MSPAA Trooper of the Year Committee. His personality and wisdom made difficult decision making easy. Bernie was a good friend.
