Not sure what to say?

Barney, Helen and Mrs. Peterson were our neighbors in North Buffalo for many years. They had a beautiful back yard and were always cheerful to us "over the fence". They watched us grow up and were wonderful neighbors. When they moved, the home and yard were never the same. In later years, we would see Barney in church each Sunday until he sold his home in Tonawanda and moved into the nursing home. But he remained in our lives, calling every December to wish us happy holidays. His...

Bernie brightened our days with his smile and his positive outlook on life. He often stopped in my office to say hello after stopping at the magnifier to struggle to read his mail. He always shook hands first, but then a hug was next! We miss you Bernie, but we know you're in a better place with the friends and family you loved so much.

As my sister Vicki stated, the fun we had with Helen and Barney will last us a lifetime.Barney was quick with a laugh or an observation about golf, the Bills or Dunlop. He loved to eat and we enjoyed many meals together at LaLa's or a beef on weck.
After Helen passed away I spent many hours calling him and talking about sports or family members. Thanks for the smiles,Barney.

Barney and Helen were so good to us as we were growing up. had many mimi vacations with them when they lived with Anna Peterson.
we always looked forward to visiting them. He always had a good out look on life. and never argued with anyone he would just say ok and laugh.... what a good way to be!!!!
will pray for him and miss him greatly.

Bernie - what a sweet and kind man. You were always so appreciative to any little thing we would do for you. I will miss your daily visits to my desk. You were truly one of the best! Rest in peace.

Love,
Sharon

Bernie was one of a kind. I had the pleasure of working with him at the Greenfields court for many years. He would always sing Happy Birthday to our residents on their special day. Things just are not the same around there without his presence. He was such a great person and I will forever be thinking of him. I loved Bernie like he was my own family and that will NEVER change. Rest in Peace Bernie
