Not sure what to say?

Mrs. Velzen...My sympathy to you and yours. He was not only the dad of one of my dearest friends, but a champion of a human being in many respects. I still hold fond memories of your very hospitable home on Fuller Ave. With prayers for strength...Beth and Gordon Kieft

Aunt Jane and family; My deepest sympathy to you on the loss of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. I have many fond memories of Uncle Bernie from my child hood, even going back to Murrey Lake when I was a very small child. (something about "Bernies Boat" on fire??) I just remember that of all the Velzen "uncles" Uncle Bernie was the fun one! I never knew when he was serious or not. My prayers are with all of you in the days ahead.

Jane, you did not know me but I knew Bernie. We met in a courtroom setting and shared many conversations. One thing I know for sure; Bernie loved the Lord and had a heart for others. My prayers are with you and your family. Pastor Jim Bright, New Community Church.

Not sure you remember us, Jane, we became acquainted when you and Bernie lived in WI and became part of our small church in Brookfield. You both took on leadership positions and your wisdom and experience were appreciated. Wish you could visit our church now, with new facilities and many new families. We are the old timers. Later we met when you served as assistants to the Pastor at Woodlawn and visited the elderly including my parents the Waanders. They looked forward to your visits...

Uncle Bernie ....making heaven an even more jubiliant place right now. While I didn't know you as well as I would've liked to, you always have held that special place in my heart and you're kindness and humor and love for your family will be missed. Godspeed and God Bless the Velzen family.

Jamie Hewitt and family .... Sugar Land, Texas

Our deepest sympathy to aunt Jane and family. I have warm and fond memories of "uncle Bernie" and the Velzen family. I remember well the love and care shown to our family when we first arrived from the Netherlands so many years ago. These include our first Christmas Tree, Thanksgiving dinners, learning to water ski at Murrey Lake.

Praise God for a long and fruitful life and marriage. Hugs to all of you!
