Read MoreBernie Zimmer was my art teacher in grammar school in the late 60's. I have fond remembrances of being in his art class. He made art fun and he had a GREAT sense of humor! My sympathy and condolences to the family. I'm a bit late, but just found out from my sister today when she discovered the obituary in the February Ledger. She was also in his classes and enjoyed them so much!

Anyone who was a teacher during 1970-1971 could never forget Bernie. Walking the picket line together and attending the rallies helped keep us together. And Bernie was right in the middle of it. I remember him very fondly. My condolences to the family.
