Not sure what to say?

I am sending my deepest sympathies to the Calderwood family. I was so sorry to hear of Bernie's passing. I have fond memories of Bernie from my childhood both from watching Captain KC and from being next door neighbors to the Calderwoods for years. Our prayers and thoughts are with you.

Although it has been many years, I'll never forget the sweet thoughfulness and kindness as Bernie sang "Happy Birthday" to me on the radio. I was so thrilled to hear it! He worked with my father, Erwin Boelter, at the time. Not many men would be so sweet to a co-worker's kid! I also remember him fondly from tv, but I didn't ever have the opportunity to get to know him as an adult. After reading the other tributes, I can tell that he was certainly a wonderful man who lived a good life,...

Martin: Thank you for the kind words you expressed on my father's obituary guest book. I wanted to come to the services for your Dad, but was highly involved with those for my Dad. On behalf of my entire family, I wish you and your family comfort during this difficult time.

Our sympathy and best wishes to the Calderwood family. Bernie was a good and gracious friend, and we will miss him. It was a treat to become his friend as an adult after having known him as Captain KC. His influence has been widely felt. Farewell to a good man.

I want to take this opportunity to thank my Aunt LaRae for all her help in being with dad. I inadvertently left her off the 'survived by' list and I want her to know that she is deeply appreciated along with her husband Bill. Dad, we are all going to miss you and we love you. You have touched many many people and you have earned so much now and forever. Thank you for everything. Martin

Bernie, you and your sweet wife were our good friends in the Heritage 5th ward. We have thought of you often and we have fond and wonderful memories of our association with you and your wife. Our prayers are with your family at this time and we pray the Lord will bless them in their time of sorrow.

Brian I am sorry to hear of your dads passing. He will always be a great person in my book . Life happens people grow and only after they are gone do you understand what impact they had on your life. Bernie will always be your dad and my friend he told me that. Bernie will not be forgotten.
