Bernie was a unique and wonderful man and possibly the most positive person I have ever met. When I fell in love with his brother Alan 17 years ago and met Bernie, his very first sentence to me was "now I have a sister again." I loved Bernie from that moment on. My condolences to the Delman family. I will always remember Bernie for his kindness, caring and gentleness. Back in June, 1961, I was riding my bike by his house. I must have run over a rock and down I went. Crying and scraped, Bernie came out, brought me in his house, washed my wounds, gave me a drink and called my parents. I lived at 35 Berkshire ave and he lived at number 9.
