Bernice and Thomas were wonderful members of First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Miriam Missionary Ministry. My husband loved giving her a hug and joking with Thomas. They made him feel like a son since he did not grownup in Gary but Mississippi. She will be missed like her husband. We know he is rejoicing now that his lovely wife is with him in heaven. If you knew our Auntie Bernice you knew she was a beautiful and wonderful woman .She had a heart of gold . And She was also blessed and highly favored. She lived s long time God gave her 94 years of life . I know there is a chosen few that will make it to heaven. I believe our Auntie Bernice Harris will be in that number. RIP Auntie Bernice my love for you will never end. Your niece Bernice Smith.

When I asked if she remembered me, she looked at me, sort of rocked her head and said, unequivocally and emphatically , Yes, l know you! I dared not ask her what was my nameshe was the familys matriarchand if she said she knew me, I had...
