I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Bernice. My heart and prayers go out to the family and many friends. I worked with her for many years, I also worked with her son in law Bill Compton,

Our sympathies to Bernice's family.
We enjoyed many times together at the
F.O.P. lodge, and I still recall the
"down back" at the 25th Street Police
Headquarters when Bernice worked Communications.

My condolences to the family. I remember Bernice when I was on the NNPD during the 70's. She was a good friend.

I worked with Bernice from 1973-1981. She was a great lady with quick wit and always ready to help. She will be missed by all that knew her. My prayers are with her family and all that knew her.

RIP Bernice, I enjoyed the years that we worked together...

I was sadden to hear of the death of Bernice. My Mother and she were on the Police Department together, my husband was also on the Police Department with her, I have fond memories of her and I remember her well. I thought of her often as I passed her home on Main Street. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Catherine Slusser Hudson

My condolences to your family on the passing of Bernice. I thought of her just days ago, as I always did every time I passed her former residence in Newport News. I so enjoyed our chats when I used to see her at our dental office. I'll miss her and I'll still smile when I drive by her home on Main Street as I have for more than 20 years. Jo Martin Harding
