Dear Larry, Pepper, Arthur, Adam, and family, it is with profound sadness that I now learn about Berni's passing so suddenly last week. As a child growing up in Glenville, I have many, many fond memories of her from the Dawn Drive neighborhood. I'll certainly miss seeing Bernie at the Glenville YMCA. Always very friendly and respectful to our staff and other members. A brilliant "feet first" swimmer!

Bernie was a wonderful substitute teacher for me at Scotia-Glenville. She had so many talents and interests; an amazing lady!

I am seldom at a loss for words, but there are no words that can express the loss of a person like Bernie. Few people could ever invoke the kind of love and spirit that Bernie did in everyone who knew her. May here soul rest in eternal peace.
