I can truly say that Bert was my very first American friend. I met him and his wonderful family in Elizabeth July, 1999, when I started working as 24/7 Home health Aid for his next door neighbor. It was the most loneliest and difficult time in my life; it was only the third month of living in this country, with very limited English, without my family and friends.
