Not sure what to say?

What can one say when such a kind and wonderful person passes? It is of course with great sadness that I remember Hop's passing. He was about my best friend in all the world and is still greatly missed. Condolences to the family and all who knew him. He's now in a place where cat hair won't make him sick.

I am so sad to know of Hop's passing! He was my friend and super repairman for so many years. What a wonderful, honorable man he was, and what a great loss it is for all who knew and loved him.

Very saddened to hear about Hop´s passing. He and I go back to 1981, when I met him at a re-enactment. We became very close pards, and did re-enactments, relic hunting, and scuba diving together. I will always cherish the fond memories we shared. Cindy´s, and my thoughts are with Margaret and family. May the earth rest easy on my dear friend. May we all sit around the campfire together one day. "May light perpetual shine upon him."

So sorry to hear of your loss. Hop was a wonderful, kind a funny man. The loss of Hop is painful for everyone that loved him. Lots of love and misses. Jan Mooney

My condolences for your loss. I was one of the many Civil War reenactors who called Hop our Pard. I spent many an evening around the campfire enjoying Hop´s tales of his adventures. He was a rare individual who made our lives better for having known him. Godspeed Hop. You will be missed greatly.

As a former neighbor, we have such wonderful memories of Hop and family, especially Nadine. We will always cherish the good times we had!!! Love and Condolences to Nadine and family. RIP Hop!!!!

I have been away from Birmingham for many years. Hop was a friend of my dad at Ala Power. I have thought of him many times over the years. He came to my house and set me up a loaner ham radio 1977 or around there. I have been a ham ever since all to the thanks of him. I shall still think of him often. My sincere condolences

I was lucky to know Hop for a number of years . We would meet the crew ( Hop , Roy , Charles, Norman , and Allen down at the civil war show in Nashville ) My brother Dave and I (Gary and Bob Edmondson )would enjoy the show ,The Station Inn and Bill Monroe Appreciation Night , the company of all of them and have dinner at Ruby Tuesday . The highlight was always hearing Hop and is life long stories with his friends . I would laugh SO hard my temples would hurt !!! Just seeing how much...

Offering my deepest sympathy in behalf of the Hays family in this time of mourning. May you find peace in God during this difficult time.
