Not sure what to say?

Bert was our neighbor at the House. Such a kind and gregarious soul despite his health issues. Unfortunately, I did not know him well but he always put on a smile on my face and greeted me and my wife affectionately when we saw him in the building or neighborhood. We all knew he was an amazing person even if we spoke sparingly. Our community will miss him and his smile.

I miss you Bert! I'll miss the twinkle in your eye when you smiled. I'll miss your patient response to questions ....on any topic. I'll miss your zest for life..in spite of serious health issues. I'll miss your participation (and preparation) in group discussions. I'll miss your patient wisdom. I'll miss your prayers. God speed Bert! your prayers. God Speed Bert!

Bert was a good friend. We met at CSL Dallas and enjoyed nearly twenty years of getting to know one another. At first it was quite casual and fun. But as monthly lunches and classes and sanghas and circles and couples gatherings accumulated we became very close. I always found our conversations to be helpful, soothing and important. He had a great knack for making me feel understood, yes and complimented for whatever little contributions I may have made to our community of spiritual seekers....

Bert was my last leader in my career in mortgage banker. Bert sponsored a day of high ropes activities for our team. I will never forget his bravery in taking on a high ropes activity. With only half of his body able to hold on, he showed the rest of us how fear is nothing to let get in the way of a goal. I still love Bert and will always remember his humility and bravery.
