Not sure what to say?

To the Hogan family - we are so sorry to hear about Bert's passing. He was a wonderful human being. He was one of our neighbors that we were sad to leave when we moved.

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes and condolences. My father's service on Saturday was a true celebration of his life and a testament to how well loved and respected he was. We are consoled in the knowledge that he will be missed by many, not just his family. . .Cynthia (Cindy) Hogan

Molly, and the rest of the Hogan Clan! I am so sorry to hear about Bert's passing. My thought and prayers are with all of you, I have many memories of Bert from getting hair cuts to getting Christmas presents when the Edgewater Fire Department would stop at the house every Christams Eve. Bert was a treasure that will truely be missed and never replaced.

To all of the hogan family, Bert is an icon of the City of Edgewater he has, at one time or another seen every head of hair west of sheridan blvd. My sons will always remember the barber shop. We will miss him greatly, Bert lead a wonderful and simple life, and i will always consider a beloved friend. God bless him, and all of the hogan family . Molly our prayers are with you. Always-Keith & Diane Johnson.

I will miss you Bert.

I cannot remember a time in my life when Bert wasn't there somewhere and even now, he will remain. From my little brother spending money my mom gave him for a haircut on candy and getting chased back down to Ernie's for a refund and back to Bert for that haircut--to my neice thinking she lived on Sesame Street because Bert & Ernie lived in our neighborhood and asking Bert where Oscar was--to my marriage and Bert cutting Ed's hair--to cutting all of my 3 boys hair. My oldest tells the story of...

To Molly and Family, Bert was a good man,
I always loved his quick wit and sence of humor. He gave a sense of comfort to his community and friends. to me those types of people are far and few between these days. It's funny today I was just thinking about him today when I was getting my hair cut. I remember telling him ,when He cut my hair, to make me look good. Ya now what he said in return always, was, "Hey buddy, this ain't no magic wand , it's just a pair of scissors". Love you Bert...
