Bert Stahlberg

R.I.P. Capt. He was my Capt in Eng-166 and I was his ECC (driver). Plenty of fun stories up in the front cab. He was a great teacher, an even better fire officer and a perfect gentleman. They broke the mold after him. He will be sorely missed. Stay low and go, Semper Fi

Bert was a great FDNY mentor and leader after 9/11. It was always a pleasure to see him come through the door. Semper Fidelis, brother. My honor to have known and worked with you.

I was so sorry to hear of Bert´s passing. Bert and the rest of the men from L153 were so wonderful to my family after my father died in the Waldbaums fire. I will never forget his kindness and generosity. Rest In Peace!

I´ve looked up to you my entire life. I miss you so much it hurts, I can´t imagine what my aunt Carol and cousins Patrick and Megan are feeling. Im so glad we made time to see each other, you always made family a priority. Life will never be the same, but your words of wisdom will be with me always.
