TOWNSEND, Berta Lee Smith, 94, of Richmond, Va., went home to be with the Lord on March 26, 2008. She was the widow of Lawrence W. Townsend. She is survived by a son, David L. Townsend; a daughter, Dorothy T. Berlin and her husband, David; a grandson, Michael D. Berlin and his wife, Delaney; a great-granddaughter, Kelley Townsend Berlin; a sister, Margaret Smith Penny; and sisters-in-law, Sally T. West of Morganton, N.C., and Lee P. Townsend of Keysville, Va. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Fairfield Presbyterian Church, 6930 Cold Harbor Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. Memorial contributions may be made to Luther Memorial School 1301 Robin Hood Rd., Richmond, Va. 23227.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. It is hard to lose a member of your family, but especially your mother. Always remember that she will never leave you because of all of the wonderful memories you have of her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
