Funeral for Bertha Dean Ferrell, 91, of Morgan County will be today, September 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Graham officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery in Athens.

Mrs. Ferrell, who died Friday, September 16, 2011, was born January 10, 1920, in Lawrence County to Steven Oliver Wilkes and Ruth Spurgeon Wilkes. She was a member of Old Moulton Road Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Ferrell; one daughter, Katie Ruth Nally; one brother, Cecil Wilkes; and one sister, Maxine Houston.

Survivors include three sons, John D. Ferrell II and wife, Linda, of Decatur, Bobby Wayne Ferrell and wife, Mary Ann, of Texas and Leon Ferrell and wife, Dianne, of Decatur; three daughters, Judy Helmintoller and husband, Robert, of Decatur, Theresa Ferrell of Trinity and Dianne Fuller and husband, Jerry, of Trinity; two sisters, Mary Sandusky of Decatur and Mevia Massey of Florida; 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends and family.
